Compressor

The Wolverine Compressor footbed is specifically designed to work with the DuraShocks insole to further improve cushioning.  Instead of being contained i the insole, the Compressor is located inside the footbed itself (below the insole).  What you get is a fiberglass shank for increased support in the heel and arch, but more importantly you get under the ball of the foot a series of compression chambers.  These act like little expandable balls that squish outward when compressed changing the force from verticalto horizonatal reducing the compression of the leg at the knees and joints.  Then, as the balls attempt to return to their original shape, they translate the horizontal energy back upwards providing a slight "spring" to your step.  Thus, with the compressor, you bet 50% more shock absorption a 30% increase in the amount of energy returned when walking.  Also, since these are designed to work with the DuraShocks insoles, you will also experience the absoprtion and returned energy of the DuraShocks insoles as well.  Together these technologies make one of the most comfortable work boots around.
